Performed at the Let Live Theater in West Hollywood on November 22-23, 2024, Girls in the Boat by Alice Austen is a fast-paced play based on the true story of the U.S. women’s Olympic rowing team. Spanning from the 1950s to 2016, it follows these athletes as they push through sexism, fight for recognition, and grow into a championship team. This project was co-directed by Belle Gomer and Avery Eletto with tech run by Mia Sondag, all LACHSA students.

The play Girl by Megan Mostyn-Brown was a passion project for Belle. Told through three compelling narratives, Girl is a non-traditional play that explores the raw and often harsh realities of the female adolescent experience. It is structured into three distinct sections, primarily told through monologues, focusing on three young women—Hannah, Lucy, and Lydia—as they navigate traumatic or life-altering situations. Working with her close friends and classmates, Belle was excited to bring this show to life and move audiences through the power of story.

The LACHSA theater department’s biggest fundraiser of the year, Halls of Horror, is typically held on the school’s campus. In 2025, through the perseverance and determination of students in the department, theater students and their families were able to keep the haunting tradition going by hosting the event at a private residence. Not only did they find a new venue, but they built an entire maze/set with set dressing and an incredible immersive acting experience. Belle took the lead along with her fellow classmate Sevi Merritt, to bring the story of Jack the Ripper to life and walk audiences through an old English town in search of a murderer they are always just behind. This fundraiser brought in over $6,000 over 3 nights.

In partnership with Jewelbox Children’s Theater, a nonprofit theater company dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts, Belle is honored to direct their spring production of Charlotte's Web. The production will perform at Rancho Los Alamitos and the Bembridge House this June. This is not Belle’s first collaboration with Jewelbox, whose mission of providing free arts programming to children aligns closely with the values of Brunette Productions. By working alongside experienced theater professionals, Belle continues to grow as a producer and director and looks forward to bringing that experience into future projects.
